You’ll never be good enough to beat that person in video games.
Nor that online player who claims they're the best.
You’ll never be good enough to earn that pay raise at work.
Nor become employee of the month.
You’ll never be good enough to be the strongest and smartest in class.
Nor get the best grades.
You’ll never be good enough to be a model.
Nor have the body you've always wanted.
You’ll never be good enough to walk away from that fight.
Nor be able to fight back.
You’ll never be good enough to hold back your emotions.
Nor always be the best friend.
You’ll never be good enough to always do the right thing.
Nor make the right choices.
You’ll never be good enough to make that person love you.
Nor always be loved.
You’ll never be good enough to make it somewhere.
Nor ever be noticed.
But you can damn well try.

Pressure
Pressure:
You try to breathe, but you're barely breathing,
You can't think clearly; you can barely speak.
Your mind is filled with needless thoughts.
Your cheeks are red and feverish...
-
You know what you must do,
But you can't bring yourself to do it.
Instead you jump into a thousand distractions...
Mindlessly seeking the thrill of the 'anything',
You cringe at the progress of time on the clock.
And with lips gone dry from an internal hell-fire
You continue to evade what you cannot face...

What's Left Behind...
Some days I find myself staggering from this hovel;
To stand with shaking legs upon the window ledge.
I look down at the tiny world below, wind rushing before me;
And I wonder if I'll be able to fly tonight...
The caress of the wind, so gentle upon my skin.
One step, one leap and I'd dip myself into the eye of the storm.
But just before my courage sends me;
Just before I take the final plunge.
I find myself looking back, at the world I'd leave behind...
Stacks of paper and a pot of ink,
Reams of stories too precious to burn.
Ideas and fears both rolled into one;
And pages of poetry left undone...
It always leaves me smiling...
For these

I Want To Live In A World Without God
I want to live in a world without God
Without the dream of Heaven
Or simple fear of Hell,
Without the love of one
Who would be so willing
To destroy under the pretense
Of a higher meaning,
Without commandments
Oppresively stopping me
From even simply lying
Even if its to myself,
To my own heart and mind
Or loving someone completely
Since he'll rip them away from me
To appease his own jealousy
Without the punishment of death
A testament to the cruelty
Of this so called Saviour
Who would allow us to live
To fight our battles
In a bitter world of his own design
While leaving us with
The complete certainity
That the

Nicely written...that ending line keeps the inspiration part without the ''sap''
